Kathleen Andersen, PA-C brings her nearly two decades of clinical experience to the Ackerly McBride Group. Known as a top PA at Sibley hospital since the early 2000s, she believes in caring for the whole patient and is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
Kathleen earned her undergraduate degree in biology, with a specialization in physiology and neurobiology, from the University of Maryland. She obtained her Masters of Science degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine before going on to complete a competitive one-year fellowship in trauma and surgical critical care. This program allowed her to gain advanced training in the management of complex and critically ill patients—an experience that continues to inform her thoughtful, evidence-based approach to care.
She is a member of the clinical staff at Sibley Memorial Hospital, where she continues to work, part-time in the Emergency Department.
Kathleen believes in building long-term relationships through attentive listening, clear communication, and shared decision-making. She lives in Bethesda with her husband and three children.
