BIOGRAPHY

We are thrilled to welcome Daniel E. Lage, MD, MBA, MSc, to Ackerly McBride on August 3, 2026. In advance of his arrival we will be hosting a virtual Town Hall on April 10th to introduce him, click here to register. Dr. Lage is a Harvard-trained, Rhodes Scholar and board-certified internal medicine physician who brings academic rigor and a deep commitment to treating the whole person to our primary care practice.

Dr. Lage completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Harvard University, earning degrees in History and Science, followed by an MSc in Comparative Social Policy and an MBA from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by fellowship training in medical oncology at the Dana-Farber/Massachusetts General/Brigham program. He is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

For the past several years, Dr. Lage has cared for patients with prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancer at Massachusetts General Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. As his patients’ primary care physician, his work centers on on treating the whole patient, not just the cancer cells.

Dr. Lage believes that primary care is the foundation of excellent health care: a place where prevention, early detection, and continuity make the greatest difference. His extensive experience treating men's cancers brings specific expertise in sexual and urinary health, as well as lifestyle interventions to improve metabolic health and cardiovascular outcomes. Patients consistently describe him as attentive and compassionate — a physician who listens deeply and empowers people with evidence-based guidance to maintain optimal health across all stages of life.

In his free time, he enjoys practicing Pilates and strength training, spending time with his family and friends, and exploring the DC food scene.

"The care I provide is the care I want for my own family: accessible, rigorous, and deeply personal. Primary care is a partnership, and my role is to help patients navigate decisions with clarity and confidence.

- Daniel Lage, MD
